I ran a Comp XE-r 236/240 and it was great. Drove fine in an A4 and made great power. It put down 460rwhp / 430rwtq in an A4 with a 12bolt /w 4.11 gears

NICE!!! 460 w/ an auto and 4.11 gears!? sweet... i have a 402 motor w/ a 224/220 cam on a 116lsa putting down 430-440 to the wheels through a 6spd and a 12 bolt w/ 4.10's. talk about great driveability and low end torque!!! still revs to 7,000 in a breaze. i'll be doing a MUCH bigger cam this winter. next week i will be converting to a th400 w/ a manual valve body and a brake w/ a 3500 stall.

sorry... didn't mean to get

Do you have a dyno chart with that cam? I bet it does make awesome low-end.

See here's where I stand: I wanna stroke my Shortblock LS1 to a 383 and put it in my ext. cab. But, I'm looking for a cam with just awesome power across the board, especially for a daily driver that I tow with. I only tow a 16' kingfisher and my Polaris 800 sportsman. I really want to put a F13 cam in it. I've seen dyno charts with the F13 in a stock LS1/stock heads, and the torque curve was very impressive. I was just curious how a F13 (230/232 on a 113LSA) would do with a 383 with stage 2 5.3 heads and truck intake? Also I was wondering how drivability would be with it? Please give me your opinions, I really appreciate the help!

i do have a dyno graph... but with a stock ls1 intake and t.b. it put down almost 420h.p. at the wheels... at 5,800 rpm. and 432 ft.lbs. at 4400 rpm. i recently installed a fast 90/90 intake and t.b. the car picked up 3mph in the 1/4!!!! so i think it's safe to say that i picked up another 10-20 rwhp w/ that intake. before that i had 400ft/lbs at the wheels by 3,000 rpm, and carried ATLEAST that all the way until 5,400rpm. very nice, smooth linear torque curve. h.p. wasn't high cuase of the tiny cam and the stock '99 ls-1 intake and t.b. but it still carried the little h.p. it had well past 6,000rpm.

now w/ the intake/t.b. it rev's to 7,000 in a hurry and still pulls hard!

okay... i've seen good torque through those cams too... however, i think that cam w/ a truck intake is a mis-matched combo (IMO). i would do a cam similar to mine if you want to use the truck intake. MTI sells their stealth 2 grind (which is what i have) .581/.581 224/220 116lsa... or lunati has a similar grind .558/.558/ 221/221 115lsa. great torque/driveablity/gas mileage cams. plus if you have cat converters, they're still emissions compliant. for a truck that does towing and sees lots of use, i would definately go w/ a smaller cam like these grinds. again, that's just my opinion.

I had a 244/248 .612/.615 in mine, but I never got any numbers. With your truck, I'd probably look into the F14 or F15. I'm sure Allan would be more than happy to get you something matched up with your truck intake.

Allan recommended the F13 a while back through an e-mail. He told me in person that the truck intake would be my best bet for my application. I've just never seen any numbers with it in a 383 LS1. Not doubting him in any way, just looking around.

By the way, did you ever get a track time with that motor? the set-up you told me about sounds bad-***!

Nope, it never left the driveway. It had about 5 minutes run time and 0 miles when I came across this new motor. Now it's sittin back in the kitchen waiting for a new owner.

Did you ever try to load it to your computer? I don't have a scanner, so I just took a picture of mine on my digital camera. That's how I posted mine up.
