Issue with connection...HP Tuners
Here's the deal, I recently recieved a new HP Tuner cable with 98 01 and 02 Corvette loaded. I have a 98 I am working on right now and giving me fits in every way. Here's how things go....
1) Try and connect to read vcm, shows a 98 vcm
2) read vcm and save to stock98
3) Try to open stock 98 with editor but it says that the file type 0 is not supported or something.
4) I find a stock 98 .bin and modify it
5) Upload the 98 .bin and once completed turn key off and on to ensure the swap went.
6) Tried starting the car but the fuel pump doesn't sound like it working properly
7) Tried to reflash the orginal program but it too says not supported by the cable.
Now the car won't start or the cable won't connect.

Phil, that #3 is very important. It says in a very clear window to e-mail us the file so we can help you out. It even lists the e-mail address that you need to contact.
#5.. Did you use the rewrite entire or the standard rewrite?
Per the help files:
"When should I use "Rewrite Entire VCM": The only time you should use the Entire VCM Write feature is if you are updating the software on the VCM to a new operating system. For example, using a Corvette VCM with electronic throttle in a Firebird that has cable driven throttle body (same VCM hardware, different Operating System). "
What is the exact error message you receive on #7?
It sounds like you may have fried the PCM. If you try to write a file that doesn't belong on a 98 pcm without using the rewrite entire method, you will fry the PCM.
