Default ECT sensor

Will the wire off my ECT drive a aftermarket ECT gauge or does the PCM translate that signal?

BTW : I am using BS3 so I don't have a ECT gauge in the car right now except a laptop

And on the pass side head over #8, there is a plug in the pass head on your car right now.

The heads are interchangeable. Hence the provision for the ECT on both.
