3 channel = no traction control= reluctors pressed on gear
4 channel = traction control= reluctors pressed on axles

Nope, that means you're having traction issues, for me that light comes on when I get on the brakes hard when its been raining.

Are you asking if the rear that's currently in your car is 3/4 channel or if a rear you're thinking about buying is 3/4channel? If it's the rear already in your car, do you have a switch at the front of the console, below the radio to turn TCS off/on? That's the easiest way to tell what you have of course. If it has the TCS switch, it's 4 channel. You can also look under the hood, behind the battery... if you have a component mounted to the body of the car with a black top and the throttle body cable goes in to it, then you have TCS.

Also the 3 channel (NON TCS) rears have one sensor on top of the pumpkin, the 4 channel (TCS) rears have two sensors, one at each rear wheel.
