Question car missing after clutch install

I have about 350 miles on my new clutch setup. The first 100 miles everything was fine. When I turn the car off with it in neutral and the clutch pedal is not pressed there is a clatter noise for a few seconds after the engine dies. When I turn the car off with the clutch engaged I have no noise. The slave, clutch, pp, flywheel, and baring (sp) are all brand new. Now my car has been sputtering, and missing even sounding like it is running on 6 cylinders from time to time. this started after the clutch install. Could this be from false knock from the clatter in the tranny area? I am having the clutch noise looked at by a shop this weekend.

i think its just a sheer coincedence that it happened now....i would look to make sure none of your wires came loose or your plugs arent worn before you go jumpin to conclusions about it being related to the clutch install. theres allways a possiblity however its not very likely. goodluck...keep us posted.

For the time being I wouldn't suggest driving it until you have it checked out.

I'll be doing the plugs and wires this weekend. I have 76000 miles on the car and have never changed the plugs so I'm hoping this is what is causing the misses. The throw out bearing is new as well as all other parts. Sucks having a new clutch and not being able to beat on it yet....

AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH!!! Wow that was great.

First thing that came to my head was did you torque your bolts down to specification?

Glad you have a sense of humor! You've got to when you own these cars. I'm betting that the two things are not related. My 6 speed always clatters with the clutch out in neutral. I've been told that this is normal and is the tranny gears making noise. It's pretty subtle, but I really hear it when I go by a wall (like a drive-through window) and the sound bounces off the wall. And it always goes away whenever I push in the clutch. My 94 6 speed makes an identical noise as my 01.

As far as it missing. With those number of miles, I'd do the plugs first, may or may not need plug wires. Keep us posted when you fix your problem.

I have the car back from the shop and all is well. The spark plugs were gapped at 85 thousandths so that is where the miss came from. They checked everything in the clutch area and could find nothing wrong.
