Default M6 shifter neutral safety switch idea

I want to get the remote start for my alarm, and I have a pro 50, I was thinking about fabbin up a little mounting plate where the 4 bolts go on top, and mounting 2 micro switches like with the metal arms. and if the shifter was in gear it would trip the switches. you could wire it up either open or closed for the alarm so the car wouldnt start if it was in a gear.

sound like a good idea?

how about someone focus on something more useful.. like a 1st gear block out! To avoid the awful 2-3 misshift into 1st.

wow that is a great idea. but the point was to create a safety device for times when weird things happen. Try reading some of the posts about people leaving it in gear for some reason or another and it drives forward and messes something up.

well that really has nothing to do with the topic, but I would suggest getting an aftermarket shifter like the pro50 and just practice shifting fast

this post should probably be moved to the electronics section now that I think about it, so anybody feel free to move it
