This is the second time i ripped the oil pan off!! Im sick and tired of it!!
The first time I had no oil presure!, Second time I was geting air bubbles and my lifters where collapsing. So im looking for another solution, Possibly 2 o rings so it seals up good!! Anybody ever try this??????????????? or anyone ever put silicone sealer on it?? Thanks for your help!!!

That sucks. I have not installed a LS1 oil pump but I know that generally putting two O-rings where one belongs is a bad idea and it might well leak again if the pickup will even seat properly. Using silicone gasket maker is probably a better bet but you would have to be very careful that it did not get into the oil/pump.

Obviously the best thing is to use the proper GM O-ring without sealant.

It's really not that hard to get the pick up tube seated.

It is better to take the pan down. That gives you more space, especialy if you have double roller chain.

If you are having continuous proplems getting it to seat maybe you should try a new pickup tube and a new O-ring(GM). Just a suggestion maybe yours has a slight defctive surface etc... Sorry to hear about your trouble with the pick up tube good luck.

Thumbs up

I just took it compleatly apart. Lifted the engine as for as it would go, droped the pan. It droped about 4". I pulled the pickup tube compleatly out and oblonged the mounting hole to makeup for the oil pump spacers moving it forward! When i get my poly motor mounts in I will see if it worked!! Hopefully next week its back together and running great!
I will let you know! Thanks for all the info!!!!!!!!!

Default oil pump

If you take the pump apart when doing the o ring its easier to seat the ring and tube perfectly, just make sure you put the gears back in exactly as you removed them, and dont overtighten the bolt, use a fresh o ring. If you try it you will see what i mean.
