how to replace air check valve?

Loosen the hose clamp, slide the hose off, unscrews from the metal air pipe (use one wrench to hold the pipe - and another to unscrew it). You can also remove the two bolts holding the pipe to the exhaust manifold if it's really tight, that way you can do it off the car.

I've removed the passenger side a couple times for plug changes, never had a problem. If you want to be safe you can pick the gaskets up at the dealer - think I paid about $7 for 6 of them. PN is 12553617.

Yeah, sometimes they're on tight, that's why I suggested removing the pipe. If you have a bench vise it's easier, if not use two large cresent wrenches for leverage.
