Default O2 question, single one

Can you just buy one cat and install one O2 sensor behined the y pipe and tie both O2 wires into the same O2 sensor? I would think this would work as the O2 sensors are looking for the same reading anyways and it would prevent me from buying sims or have to make a different y pipe for my long tubes. any thought would be great. thanks josh

I'm not sure how you want to run just one cat...just in the y-pipe after the junction? It may not get hot enough that far down - and both banks feeding into one cat would probably be a restriction to flow. Just get a catted y-pipe!
