Friend hung with a turbo LS1!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
It all started on M59, again. After cruisin in my car all day, we decided to hop in my buddies almost stock 99 Z28 M6. This car moves better than it should! Completely stock exhaust with the exception of a sawzall job to the muffler, and yes it still has the cats. Other than that it has an airlid, and a baby cam, not even close to a hotcam, with the stock 3.42 rearend. We were lookin for someone to play with, and just when we were gonna turn around, he sees an SS in the rearview. Turned out to be a Z28, and the license plate said "TRBOZ28". This car was absolutely beautiful, probably the best looking F body either of us have ever seen. We first started from about a 40 kick, and got our a**es handed to us as he got a hell of a jump. We turned around, and started heading west. Finally we got a good run in. From a 30 kick, we both stabbed it , and surprisingly, at roughly 95-100 mph, our nose was at about the middle of his doors. And yes, we're sure it had a turbo, because the whine of it was completely noticeable. We ended up pullin over and talkin to him, and noticed that the car looked even better up close. We found out he was runnin a Borla catback, an air lid, and a 7lb turbo, running a 4L60 auto with a 3:73 gear. But we also found out that his tranny was slipping during gear changes. However, nonetheless, we we're still at his doors, when he was only slipping gear to gear, not in the middle of gears. However, even though we hung with him in my buddies car, and mine would have taken it rather easily, it was still the nicest car, inside and out we have ever seen, and would have traded both of our cars for his!! So if the owner of the car is on here, awesome job on keepin the car as clean as it is!!!

I can't vouch for him but I know that if turbo's aren't tuned right they're complete dogs. When mine was "tuned" I was getting blown away from a 40roll and after I finally got it done right I was able to not only hold my own from a 40 but walk the same guy I got trashed against.
However, ranting aside, nice story. I like the way you were giving props to the turbo and not hatin'. What does your own car run? It seems like a beast.

I certainly dont want you to think im saying you lying, but somethign is wrong. Even when i put my turbo on adn had the totally stock tune with 42# injectors runnin about 9-1 AFR i was able to beat my buddies cammed camaro. I had a ton of lag cause of the nonexistant tune but i still won. At 7 psi with a descent tune he shoudl have near on 450 RWHP. Somethign was definatly wrong. And not jstu a slipping tranny wrong. GJ on the kill though

Something definitely isn't right. He should've destroyed you guys. I've run a few turbo LS1's running 5-7psi and they were much closer to me than a near stock or even lightly modded LS1.

Why would I put that in my signature... because I absolutely am pissed at Dynotuned Performance out of Chesapeake, Va. The way they seemed infalible after tuning my car. All they were after was the money and I can't wait to get my car to the track now that it's tuned by Nelson Performance. That time is there simply for my own remembrance of how hard a tuning company can screw you and leave you out to dry.
