aftermarket front bumper covers, crap or quality??
i have a 2001 z28, and my front bumper cover has spider web cracks and scratches. To fix it, means stripping the
piece down to its raw form and repainting. A repair bill for that would be about $500.00 or more.
so to avoid spending that much i decided I would remove and install a brand new cover myself and have another shop
paint it for about $75.00. I have found front bumper covers online, for some crazy prices.
GM OEM front bumper cover is about $390.
aftermarket front bumper cover is about $100.
now I run my camaro without the black grill insert I believe the car looks better that way.
my question is does; anyone have experience (good or bad) with aftermarket front bumper covers??
are they ****, or quality?
The only noticeable difference I saw is the the word camaro is NOT embossed on the front of the aftermarket one as
it is on the GM OEM part.
What I am concerned is the fitment of the an aftermarket piece(even though they claim to meet/exceed oem standards)
that doesnt mean it will fit right. and if the molded front bumper cover has molding/body waves, which you cant fix
and its looks like crap.
