Hello all im new to this site. im not new to ls1's and lt1's but i am new to the automatic side of the f body. i have had my 99 ls1 for about 4 months now and i have a list of mods that i am doing. i have headers, y pipe, loudmouth exhaust, air lid, throttle body, and sub frame connectors. i am going to be spraying it soon and i want to know what my stock tranny can handle and what is recomended to do to the tranny to make it perform better and last longer. i know the tranny will die someday but im just trying to find out what to plan on. i am thinking a torque converter and a shift kit but im not sure what parts to buy. the car also has 70k miles on it and i will eventually be spraying a 125 shot on it. thanks

I'm a firm believer in not spraying through the shifts on a stock tranny. It will prolong the life of them. Guys will say that's BS and you'll be fine spraying through. But, I don't see many of them running mid 10s with a stock 4l60. Mine's been handling about a 225 shot just fine.

yeah i figured it would be ok as long as i didnt spray through the gears. i will just have a window switch and make sure its all tuned good
