Killed a neon, not srt4
So i was leaving my friend's house, and this was kinda late 12am ish, so anyways... i was approaching a red light, so i downshifted and i guess the guy coming up next to me heard it thru the triflow. he was in a green older neon, maybe a 99 or earlier. definately not srt4. so anyways, i didnt know he wanted to race, but we were both rolling to a stop when the green light went, so he floored it. we hadnt completely stopped, so i had some traction. so he floors it and when i hear the fart can sound, i instinctively floored it. of course it wasnt much of a race, i had him by at least 3 buses or more. he might have stopped trying or something, but then again, I dont think he had any mods at all except for maybe the coffee can. He was cool about it tho, both his gf and him gave me the \m/ sign which was cool. the gf was hot, i shoulda raced him for dibs on her
This might be my first actual kill in the Z, since anyother time I "raced" it was a friend and they werent for real...

SRT4s can be made quick very easily.
Yes, there is a lot people that don't know jack **** about their cars nor know how to drive them, but you can run into one with few mods on your stock ls1 and will get smoked...

a 1st gen neon with a SRT engine swap is roughly 2600lbs. SRT-4's are on the high side of 2900lbs.
There is a total sleeper neon running around STL. It has your typical fart can, and peeling purple paint, dents from hail, oem styled wheels minus the hub caps, and bald tires (slicks). It's an ACR, and has a 2.4L Stratus motor with a SRT like sized turbo. Ran a 13.3 @108 while spinning through 1st in 99degree heat at Gateway international raceway.
On the AutoX course, nothing could touch it. Viper guys, NSX guys, and Fbody guys all pissed because this POS beat them.
There are plenty of SRT's into the 12's with about 3-4 grand in them, nothing major like turbo swaps. If you dont consider that a threat, then you must have a nicely modified car For us Lid/Catback guys its enough to keep us on our toes.
