Jesel rockers and Patriot heads
I just wanted to check with some of you other guys running this combo. I had to do some "clearancing" on the rim of the head right above the pushrod,(where the valve cover sits). I want to make sure that I removed enough material so the rockers do not hit as explained below:
I have at least 40 to 50 thousanths clearance between the rocker and the head now. Is that enough? They do NOT come close to hitting when turning the motor by hand. My question is there any chance that the roller tip can lift off the valve stem when the valve is in the fully closed position? If that happens, the rocker will hit the head,(If I lift up on the rocker when the valve is in the fully closed position it will hit). I would think that is totally impossible but with the money I have invested, I would rather know for sure. My assumption is that when the engine is running, the lifter keeps the rollor tip tight against the valve stem. I plan to turn this beat to 6,800 RPMs.
Thanks in advance, Zach
