Bang for the buck
Fairly soon I'll have about $1,000 to drop on the car. It already has Eibach springs, a LM catback, y-pipe, short throw and a lid. What's the best bang for the buck?
Headers is one idea, but it will use up MOST of that money.
I'm thinking of suspension- SFC's, torque arm, phb, and sway bars
Or maybe a cam and a new clutch?
I would like to get 4.10's back in there too. I loved them, but after they broke (bad install) I don't really feel like taking that crap apart again, plus the gas is outrageous now.
Give me your ideas!

Bang for the buck power wise and gas mileage often don't go hand and hand. Having said that, the 4.10s will be your best $$$ spent with the current setup. Cam would be good, but that might cost you more than $1K (depening on the cam) to be worth it once you buy the valvetrain stuff and get tuning to take full advantage of the cam. Not to mention headers are still needed to really see the full benifits of the cam, and those plus the cam package would put you well over $1K total....closer to $2K.
A clutch would be good, but not necessary unless the current one needs to be replaced, otherwise I'd wait on that.
I think 4.10s and some SFCs would be good next steps with the $1K.

gears.. 4.10's
cam will cost you NEW 385 and then springs/titanium retainers/hardened pushrods/seats/seals/shims..
your looking at about 850 bucks.
then you figure install is about 500-750 and then tune which is 550.
so thats 2150.
you wont see all that much with the stock y pipe/cats/manifolds though.
You need to start with supporting mod's first and then the heavy weights can be added.
You want to know the BEST bang for the buck? Juice the car.
If you dont like juice.. get headers and a y pipe. Get long tubes (and for heavens sake.. dont settle on **** ones either like I did with my mac's.. get QTP's).
After that.. get the gears.. then cam and accessories and a tune.. and then you are golden.
so scrap the 1000 budget.. just start to piece the car out CORRECTLY and not look for the best bang for the buck right now. This is how you build a car incorrectly.. trust me I went down that path already and I have to redo my entire setup.
