Autometer guage wiring question.

Autometer guage wiring question.
I'm currently installing two autometer gauges on my C5. Fuel pressure and Boost (for my twin turbo setup!!!)
Anyhow, all I am trying to do is get the friggin' dimmer to work properly on the guages. I tapped (with one of those crimp connectors) into the dimmer wire behind the A/C controller, and hooked up a good ground.
This works perfectly with a test light (dimming, etc..)
This works perfectly with 1 gauge attached (doesn't matter which one)
This fails when both gauges are connected?!!?!? The lights go out on the gauges within .5 second. If I lower the dimmer switch to zero then turn it back up again, the lights on the gauges flicker for a second, then turn off again.. Almost like a circuit breaker resetting itself.
What am I doing wrong? The fact the each gauge works on its own has stumpped me. Is there too much resistance or something with both gauges connected? (And of course, I have them in parallel, not series)
Any advice, Thanks!
Tommy
