Default Loss of second gear

I was driving hard through first gear and grabed second as soon as I let off the clutch I heard a boom and then no second gear. I can slide the shifter into second gear but nothing its like it is in neutral. no grinding, no noise or vibration just no second gear. anyone know what this is?

Yep
you sheared off all the synchro teeth on your second gear.
You need a rebuild.

It should be pulled apart and inspected so that you know what kind of damage you are talking about. Give me a call or PM about rebuilds. I am offering a discount for all LS1tech.com members thru the end of the month.

Thanks,
Joe

I just bought a trans from a member on here with this same problem...I'm almost done with rebuilding it. It is more than likely the synchro teeth on your second gear.
