Question or two...
Okay, here's my lil question...
I've got a 6-speed 99 TA, basically stock. Its currently got a Hooker muffler and a K&N lol..I'm following through with all the bolt ons....
I want to keep the car "mild", seeing as how its my daily driver, and I enjoy it being tame....but I also enjoy being fast....I'm not hunting any specific ET or anything, I just want to make the car a bit more fun to drive, and maybe a fun car to hit the drag strip or road course with every now and then...
I don't have the $$$ for a set of LS6 heads or AFR's, but it seems as though stock LS1 heads are relatively easy to come by, and are affordable. I'm considering gettin a set of stock heads and porting them....And no, I won't have the $$$ in a set of stock heads that I'd have in LS6's or AFR's...
I also want a cam, but I don't want anything wild. As I said, I want something thats just gonna make it more fun to drive, and may sound a lil bit better...I'm thinking something along the lines of 220ish duration .550 lift and maybe a 114 LSA....I realize it may not give "optimum" gains, but it could still be fun, and help me make sure I can hurt feelings on the interstate or at the strip ...
Basically, I'm wondering if its worth it or not.....and why, in your opinion.
Also, where would be the best place to go, for a cam?
thanks,
-Will

How much can you spend?
In any case H/C you are looking at around 1500>2000 $$ if you do the install yourself.
Do not take shortcuts on heads, some sponsors have very good deals. TEA has an entry level heads for around $1100 (well worth it). or PRC for 1450 $$ stage 2.5. (I got these and they work real good)
As for the cam, look into a tried off shelf grind and the best all around is TR224 (224/224, .563/.563, 112 lsa+4)
The reason I say 112 is because you are M6, for a A4 then 114 would be better but not necessary.
