I recentelt put my cam in and have been having issues since then. The car always wants to shift to 4th gear. It will be in 4th by 30mph. When I hit the gas and expect it to downshift it doesn't. It just drags along and sometimes backfires. Anyone have a similar problem?

If it backfires, that isn't the tranny. It sounds like the cam may be installed slightly off.

well i belive it backfires because the computer thinks the car has downshifted and dumps a ton of fuel into the motor when infact i am still in 4th gear going wot at 40mph. if i put the shifter in 1 it will haul ***. the weird thing is about 15% of the time it will drive normal, shift at about 2400rpm under normal drivng and such. the other 85% suck.
