I have an electric nitrous pressure gauge that's sitting on my a-pillar right now. When my bottle arrives, it's going in the spare tire well. I was planning running the sending unit for the gauge back there so I can see the bottle pressure even if the valve isn't open.

The only problem is the sending unit harness is only 8', so I'd need to splice some wire onto it to make it reach. Will this change the accuracy though? I know a lot of senders are based on resistance, i.e. the more/less resistance through the wires, the more/less the gauge reads. Will the extra 8' or so of wires affect the accuracy noticibly?

Anyways, should I extend it or just run it off one of my 'noids and live with it?

I'm going to say no it won't it's simply a signal that's voltage based?, but Dynotune would prob be the best guys to answer that question i'm sure they'll weigh in.

Nope, it should be fine. I did it to my gauges and they all work fine.

Should not be a problem. Thats why we supply 20 feet of wire with all our gauges so you dont have to add wire.

Thought about this myself. Although not sure I would need to, I want to mount the gauge in the center dash, but use the sending unit at the solenoids.

Ask the guage manufacturer to be sure. I just asked auto meter about mine and they said no problem extending the wires.

I wish they were not so cheap though. The extra wire might have cost them 50 cents!!!

Dyno tune has done it right with 20 ft. of wire.

the gauge should be able to function without faults....Not like an o2 sensor where its showing different signals... just my cents.
