Default Attaching 4guage Cable to Battery

Hey everyone,

Where have you all attached your 4gauge power wire under your hood? I attached mine on the red terminal on the front drivers side, is this bad? Or is there an adapter to go right to the battery?

Thanks

I did the same thing, its all corroded now but i'm gonna switch to a new batter y anyway and use the top posts. It is really hard to cleanly add accesories to sidepost (GM) batteries. Atleast to my knowledge. They do make adapters though, thjey have thme at walmart, i have no experience with them.

This is how I did mine.

I have at most ~3" of wire between the battery and the fuse holder. Can't get any safer than that

I would not use that red terminal area because there's only a 10ga or 12 ga feeding it.

What's the point of having 0/2/4 ga hooked up to that area...defeats the purpose.

Use a battery post for a GM type battery. They look like this

for the terminal you can use a 4ga o-ring connector.
they look similar to this.

Make sure to fuse the wire within 18" of the battery
