I just test drove TWO VETTES!!
First one was a 1997 Torch Red Automatic C5 at the Chevy dealership. I didn't like it to much.
Second one was the sweet spot. Black 1999 FRC with a few things done...red caliper, fuel rails, Z06 seats, custom floor mats, intake, Long Tubes and a short shifter (It was a six speed.) When I first got in the car it was embarassing because I could get it out of the drive way (thought it wasn't in gear) man that thing had a rock solid clutch and the shifter had no throw. Each gear was half an inch apart and solid as a rock.
As for the drive....wow! This was my first time driving any sort of Vette. Compared to my Camaro the thing pulled solid. When you popped the clutch the thing grabbed and ripped I was impressed. Overall fit and finish was tight but I could feel the engine vibrations at the top of the clutch on my foot as well as in my hand when I got on it. (Don't know if this is how it's supposed to be.)
Anyways, he was Asking 25...got him down to $23k and could not get financed by myself at my bank. (I'm a youngin'...)
I'm putting this thread up here in regards to all the Fbody vs. Vette questions we've been having lately. So if there's any questions for a totally unbiased guy let me know!
Btw here's the one I just drove...
