Default LS1 to LS6

Coming from CA. How potent is this conversion? Is this CA exempt?

I don't know what you were trying to show with that link because that link doesn't show anything.

LS6 is nothing more than better flowing heads with bit more aggressive cam so I don't know if buying an LS6 motor (if that is what you were trying to show with that link) is worth the money considering you could buy stroker motor for better HP/TQ.

It would be cheaper to just get headers and a small cam I think. I couldn't find the LS6 conversion on that page becuase I'm in a rush. You'll make power than you would get with a stock LS6. You can keep the cats or go with high flow cats and get a tune and you're set.

I believe he was tring to show the cam, head, spring, intake package. Do a search in this section there was a thread on it a few weeks ago. If I am correct most people said it would be better to just get ported heads and a better cam for less money.

CheaTR cam. Emissions legal. Nice gains. Keep your stock manifolds and cats in the legal location.

It notes: "GM Performance Parts LS1 to LS6 Conversion PackagesPerformance head packages from GM.

Have an LS1, but want the performance of an LS6? You're in luck--GM Performance Parts 405 HP LS1-to-LS6 conversion packages give you virtually every component you need, based on the model year of your vehicle. These combos include an LS6 camshaft with 204/218° duration and .550/.550 in. lift. They've done the designing and testing, and came up with these proven performance packages to eliminate the guesswork that usually goes along with conversions! " end quote

So basically just port your heads a new cam is better bang for the buck?

Definitely. Ported heads flow better than stock LS6 heads. And you can get a MUCH bigger cam than 204/218, with more lift as well.

My heads/cam package with gaskets, bolts, timing chain, etc. INSTALLED only ran me about $2600.

It's good for about 475hp or more with matching mods vs. 405hp for the LS6.
