Default Could my new mods slow me down??? Please give some feedback.

Hey guys, It has only been in the last 6 months that i have converted my car from a Sunday car to a Drag car and i was wondering if my most recent mods might hurt my performance. First off, let me say that my car was by no means fast at the track the last time out... lots of wheel spin due to zero suspension mods. Here is a run down of past and present.

last time out... head / cam / bolt on / 12bolt spool / TNT 100 shot / on 26" ET streets netted me a 7.201 @ 99.X in the 8th. I had horrible traction coming out ff the hole with a 1.78 60'. I knew i needed to lighten up the car and upgrade some things so here are the present mods.

Wolfe Moly 6 point, Wolfe through floor subframes, Bogart Aluma lights (skinnies in front and 15 x 10's in back), Strange Drag brakes front and back, ABS Delete, Kirkey seats, Wolfe Moly solid mount LCA's, and a Set of 28 x 11.5 QTP's on the back. I know that i added some weight with the mods and also lost some with the brakes/rims. Well now that things are a little in my advantage, are the 28's going to hurt me really bad. My goal was to get a little more traction with them and possibley keep the car in 3rd through the traps (M6). I was told that the 60' might get worse and that the times could come out slower. What is you take and experience from when you swapped over. Any and all input is greatly appreciated. TIA, WOT

you dont really mention any suspension. I think its as simple as tuning in your new suspension. Do you have adjustable shocks? What's your torque arm set at? lca's?

I am running the bone stock suspension pieces with the exception of Wolfe Moly LCA's. I have seen guys here the local track pull high 1.5's with stock pieces and sticky tires. I was mainly wondering if the upgrades that i did were going to hurt my times' in the near but be necessary in the future.

I forgot about all the big races this weekend. that is probabley where everyone is at. maybe i can get some more input once teh new week starts. Thanks to those that have ansered.

Do a huge burn out, launch at a crazy high rpm and drop the clutch off the line on the hose. you should get at least a 1.6 60' and run 6's.
