Default ET Streets 27.0 x 10.5 x 16's too much for bolt ons + 10 bolt?

Just curious, I may have a killer deal lined up for a set up ET streets.
I'm not sure what size they are, 26 or 28, or x9 or x10.

Anyhow, what I have right now, is pretty basic boltons and a 6 speed.
lid/filter (FTRA soon to follow), and true duals off the stock manifolds. Tuning and longtubes, !cats, etc to come next spring.

I was able to cut a 2.0 60' time en route to a 13.2 @ 106.7 (hit the limiter in 1st gear) on crappy kelly charger tires. I'm thinking I might be able to get down into at least the 1.8's with a good set of tires, I just want to make sure they're not too much tire for my setup.

thanks!

If you have a stock 10 bolt I would not recommend ET Streets. I would go with a 26" drag radial and start saving for a 12 bolt or a 9". A 28" tire is too much for a bolt on car. It will make you bog off the line.

You will kill the 10 bolt with the ET Streets, they hit pretty hard in an M6. The other thing is you need bias ply fronts to go with them or driving will be f***d up. Don't mix radials & bias ply. Get some DRs, they will help, you'll still have to slip the clucth in 1st but you can be much more aggressive.

Those six gears seem to be hard on diffs. But, I think if you can modulate the clutch properly, then you could cut some better sixty's.
I have an auto which is much easier on the diff, but lots of guys seem to have pretty good luck with a good aluminum diff cover and studding the main caps.
I have been cutting pretty consistent 1.6's on ET Streets and Drags for a few years now on my stock 3.23 10 bolt with just a MAC diff cover. So I don't see why you can't cut 1.8s.
I wouldn't rev the **** out of it and dump the clutch though. I have broken lots of stuff in the past with old 4speeds and 12 bolts, but were talkin 4000 lbs and 6grand clutch dumps.

Good luck.

run the 26's. they will spin a bit more saving your rear end and making up for your lack of gear and you'll still be able to cut a 1.6-1.7 with em when the time comes that you can launch it hard
