Cam?? g5x3

Cam?? g5x3
Well this winters project includes a cam. I know absolutly nothing about them other than what they do. All those numbers confuse this **** out of me. Basically so far I am just going on what I think sounds good. Thats probably not the best way to go, but...Does anyone know anything about the g5x3? I know that I don't want a huge cam but I want to pull up to the light and I want the person next to me know that there is something good thumping away in there. I am looking for more low to mid range power. As of now the car only gets driven in nice weather. I want dependability. I don't have the cash to change the heads. Changing the rockers etc...is a possiblility but i might just run everything stock with the cam. Good idea? I don't know. I am a newbie to this cam thing so all the info possible would help me out greatly.

if you don't want a huge cam, then you don't want that one.....it is considered a pretty BIG cam.....but dependability is all in the tune....the T-REX is one of the biggest off the shelf cams there are and it is the only one that i have heard of having some serious issues with driveability even after a good tune.....but i'm sure even those issues could be lined out with enough time dedicated to the tune.......the TR224 is one i hear a lot of people use for low to midrange power and torque but still keep civil driveability at the cost of a very noticeable lope.....Futral's F-13 is a bigger cam but sweared by on this board, it has a more pronounced lope, but i have heard several F-13 owners say they wish they would have gone with at least the F-14 in order to have a choppier idle because the 13 does not sound aggressive enough.....my advice is read the cam sticky at the top of this section and do a search because everyones opinion of what is streetable or what is a big or a small cam is relative.......hope that helps some

The TR224 on a 112 LSA is a very good cam for Low to mid range, with some lope. However, if you still want that Thunder Racing has the 230/224 on a 111 LSA. It's power range is 2200-6800, and it lopes hard.
