convert LS1 hydro's to LT1 style (smoother shifting)?
I tried searching but didnt come up with anything.
Basically, I hate how my LS1 shifts. I have done all the normal mods (ie. drill, etc..). However I have not tried a McLeod adjustable master.
I really love the way my LT1 cars always shift....never any problems, very smooth. My LS1 is real notchy and just downright unplesant to shift at redline (if it even goes into gear).
My question is: has anyone tried to adapt the LT1 hydraulics/tranny to an LS1 motor? I am talking LT1 tranny, hydraulics, clutch. I know that the input shafts are different. I guess the question would be in modifying the LT1 bellhousing to mate to the LS1 engine along with imput shaft length difference.
I know it probably impossible, but shifting this pile is the biggest pain. My LT1/street twin setup used to speedshift/powershift like butter.
Maybe I will just try and modify the hydraulics like Al did with his.
Thanks, Jason
