Yeah, mileage isnt a problem with these cars when done right. What kills mileage is autos with big stalls, and cams with a lot of overlap.

Heads & small cam will get that with no adverse effects on drivability.

I get 30 mpgs on the highway with my car. Great heads, great cam and razor sharp speed density tune deserve the credit (Thanks Thunder Racing).

are you looking for a certain ET or power range?

these motors are very driveable even when heavily modded.

i think you can get 400rwhp from all bolt ons and a good tune. that should make for a efficient DD also.

another possibility is a shot of n2o. only affects your milage when you use it. that could get you to 500+hp while gettin pretty good mpg.

I'm pushin 400rwhp and I'm gettin 25mpg with no problems at all and it's my DD. I'm gonna start doing more stuff over the winter to push even more hp.

Get a decent size cam and all the bolt ons and you will be there.

Dont worry about MPG either, I know I dont.

You'll be good to go with 400whp. Just depends on your setup on how drivable it will be. Even if you get a huge cam, it will still be daily drivable. Lots of different setups to go with and all of them will be great for daily driving.

wow, i am just sooooo blown away every time i learn something new about these LS1 cars! they are the complete opposite of what is known to be true.

it is know, atleast to me, if you want something, you must sacrafice something else. If you want straight line per, you lose your cornering; if you want power, you lose your mpg, and daily driveability. If you want style, you lose weight atvantage. These LS1 cars just BLOW MY MIND!

It gets me all jazzed up!

With a good clutch and a good tune, 400 rwhp is no problem for a daily driven LS1. Just make sure you have the clutch and rearend that can handle the power you're making.
