Default Guage cluster replacement
When changing out a 2001 SS gauge cluster, does it have to be year specific? Or will any 98-02 work? When replaced, does the elecronic odometer display reading still come back as it was?

I believe 99-02 will work. The mileage is stored in the cluster.
