International Members - LS1 in Britain?

I've been a keen Rover V8 (Buick 215) user, but it's being phased out of production now :-(
That means no 4.0+ V8s made in the UK!
I'd like to get an LS1 as it seems the ideal motor to fill the gap left in the market, it's all a question of price.
Are there any companies who sell second hand standard GM engines? i.e. from crashed vettes etc...with the LS1 unit. How much money do they fetch? web sites...?

PS. The biggest we go over here is 4.6 litres, with the last ever Rover V8 <img border="0" title="" alt="[Roll Eyes]" src="images/icons/rolleyes.gif" /> If we can get an LS1 for less than $3000 on the door then I think they may catch on <img border="0" title="" alt="[Smile]" src="gr_stretch.gif" />

look on ebay...i've seen many things where they sell a engine/tranny combo...

$3000.00 for an used LS1 engine <img border="0" title="" alt="[Eek!]" src="gr_eek2.gif" /> I don't think so. Someone correct me if I'm wrong please.

Then there's the shipping cost to consider <img border="0" title="" alt="[Smile]" src="gr_stretch.gif" />

Maybe in 5 to 10 years, but I don't see it!

Might want to consider one of the truck motors
(4.8 / 5.3 / 6.0) as they are a bit cheaper, but still damn good motors. Valvegod posts on this board and others, sells almost any part you could possibly need for the swaps. I've bought a bunch of things from him, been happy with all of 'em.
