Default 100 lbs off nose of car by changing brakes and suspesion

Called AJE and for $1800 i can drop 100 lbs off the nose by changing to a spindle set-up and lightweight brakes. Do you guys think this is worth it? What type of gains? 60' From 1.71-?? Just wondering if i want to shell out this money or save up for something else.

Thanks,
Joe

if you are going 1.71 60' in an automatic its not due to weight on the nose. i wouldnt spend that kinda dough just to drop 60' time if you are that slow out of the box. now if you were low 1.4 60' that would be cool. just my opinion.

Before you do that, I would make sure you have done all the other basic front end lightning tricks like...
-Battery in the back
-Tubular K-Member and A-Arms
-Aerospace front brakes
-Remove heating and cooling system

This will result in over 100lbs off the nose and cost quite a bit less... what is your current race weight and RWHP? By the info in your signature... you should be in the 1.6's... if not the 1.5's...

for sure he should be 1.5's... i'd say atleast. sounds like traction problems to me. but yea, i agree w/ the other guys - do the other stuff first. your car sounds like it's got a lot of potential.... atleast on paper.

Yea i got to the track like a week ago and i went 11.7 with a 1.7 60' on motor and when i sprayed it spun pretty bad so i just coasted the rest of the way. The car has tockico shocks front and rear (which suck) and stock springs in the rear with moroso trick springs up front. I removed the A/C completely i am also running stock front wheels with 26x10x15 M/T on the rear Drag slicks. The car Weighs in at 3600 lbs last time i weighed with only weight reduction being passenger seat and rear seats. This was also on stock wheels all around. and me in it. I was also thinking the car should be cutting 1.5's but im not and im trying to find out what needs to be done. If you need to know anything else to help i will gladly post it. the RWHP is 408 on motor and 390 torque and on the spray it was 477RWHP and 512 Torque with .036 and .034 jets and now i have dual .052's so im spraying alot more. No good runs on the new nitrous but even on motor my 60's should be better. Also i have the stock rear in the thing and 3.23's I should metion that i think it is on its last limb because during my burnout sometimes it will spin and then not spin but the rpms will still be high due to diff slippage im thinking and was told by SJM manufacturing. does this sound possible? Also the front shocks are like for street so this may present another issue. Also for your info i launched off the brake and foot brake and resulted in similar 60's i dont have a 2 step so im thinking the time from holding it at 3600 or so to flooring it may have been another cause for this.

Thanks,
Joe

I would do the spindle set up last because of the price. Like others recommended switch to a tubular front supsension and brakes if you have the cash and see what that gets you.
