What do you guys think, flycut or new pistons?
Hey guys, just wanting to go bigger on the cam and I'm pretty sure that I'm gonna have P/V clearance issues and I'm going to have to either flycut the pistons or get new ones, what do you guys think I should do? Cost, reliability, etc.? I haven't priced any good pistons yet, who makes nice notched pistons? How much $$ have you guys paid for flycutting and have you guys had luck with it?

Flycutting is very cheap compared to redoing your motor. I've done it in the car before, no biggie.
If you have the dough, put a forged shortblock in. If not, cut them and let it rip.
As for reliability, most piston failures are near the ringland, not the middle of the piston where you'd be cutting.

You can rent the tool from LG, or just buy it. I think rental was like $80ish? Buying was about $150. It isn't hard, at least on a vette. It may be tough to get the back cylinders on an f-bod.
