Default LS1 drive shaft slip yoke problem

I just bought an ls1 drive shaft at a swap meet about two months ago.
My problem is that the slip yoke has a lot of suface rust on the splines and will not go far enough on the output shaft. Just wanted to see if anbody has any idea how to get the rust off or where to get another slip yoke. This was going to be for my LT1 camaro so it should slide right on. Ive put strong penetrating on the splines and scrubed them with a steel gun brush, used a wire wheel on a dremel tool, and used a small flat head to try and get it clean. I can now get it on about a 1/4 of the way on and it gets stuck.

aboved all, you sure there is not a slite bend in the yoke?
or a bur on the output shaft?
if all else fails you may get a broom handel and drive in in the yoke which will clean the inside and all so will make a mprint of the inside which will allow you to check against your output
ps: after driving the handel in you may need to drill some of the handel to releave it a little to enable you to remove it ,
just my $ .o2 Johnny
