Pushrod Length?
Hey guys,
Just a quick one here. Anyone got a calculator for pushrod length?
Perhaps someone can just answer my question straight up. I'm going to be installing a cam with specs of:
224/228 .581/.588 on a 113
Now.. do I use stock length 7.4" pushrods or do I go longer/shorter? Usually in the old motors I've put together you go with a shorter rod since the lift has increased in order to maintain proper valvetrain geometry...
Is my PVC gonna be okay? (no work done to heads at all/stock gaskets etc.)
Any advice?

I would use 7.425 Comp Cam p-rods. Available at Thunder Racing
While 7.40's will work, you valvetrain will be noticeably noisier.
7.425's quiet things down a lot and get you closer to original preload on lifters.

Gotcha. Right on. Is that because as was mentioned the base circle change necessitates this? I always used to associate extra lift needing a shorter rod. I'm betting I was wrong!
