Hi would I benefit from a lightened flywheel, I have two options an aluminium or steel at 23lbs or steel at 15lbs. I am using the stock flywheel at the moment as I am now doing a 408ci project in a Manaro. The car will be driven 3 times a week and occassional drags once a month.

If you are not running a huge tire that can take a high rpm dump with teh stock flywheel , the aluminum helps great for traction on hard to hook cars as it does not shock the tires as hard.
I just put one in my car and with a 26 inch tall m/t drag radial , I have matched my best ever 1.59 with the stock flywheel and it does this more consistent. It pulls harder on the other end also.
with the size engine you have , I would think that traction is limited with a small tire, this will help not shock the tires as hard. From a roll though , it turns on faster then before.

Spec told me that unless you have a big tired car that bogs on launches with high dumps, you will benefit from the light flywheel.
