Default Muscians?

I'm in the market for a Bass Guitar....I've had one before, (Ibanez 4string/fretted), and I'm looking to get back into plucking away at it. Anyone have any good experience with anything in particular? I was looking at the Fender Squire P-Bass. I'm not a professional or anything, just like to play away to take up some time. That, and I need toys to fill the new house.

oh no! not the p-bass, haha.

at least go with a jazz bass, you'll like the sound better...not to mention they wont break on you.

Are you looking for an electric bass or an acoustic?

If you are willing to drive to buy a bass a friend of mine that is a bass player is looking to sell one of his and I believe it's a 5 string. I can get more details (like the brand) if your interested.

I'd actully like to stick with a 4 string.

I went to GuitarCenter today, and I deff like the Jazz over the P bass. I played an Ibanez I liked as well too.

Ryan, electric.

a p-bass might not be a "top of the line" bass but its still a good bass to mess around with. We used one for nearly 2 years before we got a new one and put it in as a back up.

I'm a Primus fan, but I think his name gets brought up way too much for what hes done. Hamm on the other hand..

Hey Craig,
Billy Sheehan gets my vote. I saw him play with Steve Via, awesome show!
Still playing your guitar I suppose. I got a couple of new ones this year.

haha yes.
geddy lee
victor wooten (classical thump-listen to it!)
billy sheehan

if you want a good bass for a good price, you should try the geddy lee fender jazz bass. really good sound for a really great price. another good one is the ibanez btb series. id go with the mid-range model. also great for the price.

hey, i know u said u prefer a 4 string, i am just letting u know my dad has a Fender 5-string bass guitar, that he used for like one week (he has many, many guitars) and it has been sitting in a case, un-used. if you are interested he will probably sell it, cause one of my friends was interested awhile back but he didnt have any money. let me know, i can get more info about the bass guitar for you. he also has a massive fender bass amp.
