When I ran a search I found a few posts that claimed you didn't need a new master, just the slave. With that in mind I just bought the slave and did the drill mod to the master. I am running a Spec Stg 3 with a resurfaced flywheel and a shim.

I've got about 1000mi on the setup with about 400 of those being city. So far the whole setup is working great, no problems to speak of at this point.

The slave is the thing running to your clutch right??? and what exactly is the "drill" mod, I heard people talking about it, but idk what it actualy is or does.

If you have a 01-02 car, then all you need is a new slave and just to do the drill mod on your existing master. If you are running a 98-00 model vehicle, then I would suggest that you get a new master cylinder as well (be sure it's LS6), then do the drill mod on it. The 98-00 cars do not have the LS6 master in it like the 01-02 cars do. Getting a new slave isn't a necessity, but I would recommend doing it while you are in there.

Well, the master can be put in whenever, cause it doesnt have anything to do with taking the transmission out or whatever. So I will just do the slave for now, and the master later. Money is a little tight, but it will be done prob in the spring.

I about to do the ls7 clutch when it gets here. My cars pedel works fine, but since i got the tranny out i might as well do it now so i dont have to pull it down the road.hell you never know it could break the next day after you get done or it could last forever. It's just your call.
