Default What would cause...

...what would cause my transmission to get stuck in second gear after a small burnout? i did the burnout, then launched the car and noticed how lazy it was (comparitively) and that it didn't make the -what would've been- 1-2 shift, but kept accelerating. i then drove it approximately 1 mile on the highway, bouncing RL, moving the shifter all over the place (bad idea yes i know, but i was perturbed) trying to get it to shift. i then shut it off for ~15 minutes, returned to the car, started it up, manually put it in first...then clunk, it was in first now. car has shifted fine since then. it seems that something was stuck? i think the installation of the shift kit helped as i was able to force something by manually putting it in first?

Try doing a search, its a normal issue on high stall cars, that can be fixed with programming.
