Need help picking some pistons please..
ok i need help picking some pistons for my car..its going in my ls1, its not bored or anything its just the stock block with stock internals..im thinkin real seriously about buyin "philsC5vette" afr heads..he said they are milled to a 61cc and are set up for a 11:01 compession ratio..and if i buy these heads i was gonna go ahead and put different rods and pistons in my car cause i want to run like a 150-200 shot and i dont feel safe with stock internals doing that..i already got my rods they are lunati 6.125..and i believe the stock bore and stroke on an ls1 is 3.905 and 3.622 correct? i dont want to go over 11:01 compression cause i want to be able to run pump gas..plus i gotta 233/239 tsp cam, so i need a piston that wont add any compression and a piston that will have big enough valve reliefs so i dont have any p/v clearance issues...so what do yall reccomend? thanks! and also i know there is the option to just use stock pistons and flycut them but i dont want to..

3.898 is stock bore, 3.905 is honed. final SCR will also be dependant upon gasket thicknness and deck height. .045 cometic, -.008 deck height, and 2cc valve relief will put you at 11.11 CR. make sure you buy a piston with the right CH, in the range of 1.310 for your 6.125 rod.

domed decreases combustion volume and raises your CR, which you said you dont want. flat top is just as it sounds. both will have valve reliefs. you'll need to hone your block with 3.905. there are stock bore replacement forged pistons though as well, mahle among others carries them.
