Default ASR off, does not respond to button press

When I first turn on my car the the switch operates normally. After 10 seconds or so the "ASR off" light comes on and the switch does not work to turn the light on or off. I don't seem to be having any ABS difficulty.

This occured just after I changed my oil and tightened three bolts on my water pump. While I was doing this I discovered a hole in the hose from the PCV to the TB. I replaced the PCV and the hose from the PCV to the TB. Now I have the problem with ASR that i described above.

Any ideas?

Have you checked the ASR fuse?

Default ASR problem

Fuses look good. It gets power and operates normally for the first several seconds after the engine starts. Then the "ASR off" lights up and the button becomes unresponsive.
