Default Rearend ???

I am wondering what is the most compon part on the GM 10 bolt that breaks because i would like to try and avoid replacing my whole rear because i am tight on money i am hopeing to get away w/ possibly getting a new better posi or something any input would b great thanks

Is it a M6 or A4 to start. If it is a A4 you will be ok for a while depending on your horse power. M6 you will break the axles or the spiders and possible the case. If it is a M6 time to step up to a heavy duty rear. Hope that helps.

usually ists the case....like previously stated above...but i have heard and known for the posi to break too.

If your running aftermarket gears taller than 3:42's with an M6 you can look forward to snapping them too. About the only thing you can do to the rear behind a 6 spd. is put a girdle on it. And it's debateable how much one of them really help you out (not much).

yea the gears break alot especially if u have aftermarket gears,they are stiff and tend to break more where gm gears are soft and absorb a little of it,jmo
