bolting zf 6 speed to a lsi engine?

It will bolt up But it will not work! Do not make me post the pic's. I am putting an LS1 in my 1951 Chevy truck with all C4 Corvette front & rear end and to test fit it I used the LS1 and my ZF6 bolted up.... as well did the auto (4l60e) out of the 95 Vette...I have been told that they do not work.... ie input shaft is still not the right length for the ls1.

Does anyone know if a zf 6 speed will bolt on directly to a ls1 bell housing?
I did not look it the post that good : NO the LS1 BELL HOUSING will not bolt to the ZF6.
