408 piston design??
Talked to Bryan from LME today,I'll be taking my 6.0 block,Lunati crank and pro billet rods on Saturday.There going to build my 408,Just wondering Bryan suggested a -8cc dish piston. Is there any advantage in going to a flat top design??Compression is to be at least 11.1.Whats the most I can run,daily driven?? I have AFR 205s unmilled,fast 90/90NW Still trying to decide on camshaft I love torque,I already PMed Katech I wait and see what they recommend. Nothing to rowdy, but I want power early and keep on going to 6500rpm. Its an A4 TCI 3500 and stock 3.23.After break in 6-speed is going in,should be fun! Any help greatly appreciated! with 64cc heads and a -8 piston, you should be around 11.25:1 static compression
u could run around 11.5:1 no problem IMO and maybe even a lil higher depending on the cam

While there are different schools of thought for greatest efficiency (small chamber, small dish vs. FT for example) for your case the only thing that's really going to matter is compression.
Compression is determined mathmatically by the above formulas.
How much compression you can get away with is another thing. Engine type (LS1 vs. 350 for example), fuel octane, type of fuel (CA vs. other), engine design (quench, rod length, cooling, application), and camshaft design are a few of the factors.
Again, depending on the above a little over 11:1 is generally as much as you want on pump gas. Some people can run more, some people a little less but 11:1 is generally a "safe" limit for premium pump gas in all 50 states.
