Default Track experts, please analyze & comment.

I was worried when i originally heard the times the previous owner ran which was a best of only 13.0@109 in Houston in cool weather, made we worry I had a bit of a dud. Well I received in the mail the previous owner's timeslips and log book, only 3 runs in it. And by the way, it was nice to see and I know he was most likely telling the truth about only being to the track once since the only entry in the book is those 3 runs from 2001.

From what I see it looks like it was just terrible driving, being it was his first time to the track with the car and was having traction and shifting issues. I just wanted to see if some of the track gurus could analyze the numbers and let me know what the car should be capable of if it has traction and good driving.

Anyhow, here goes:

Track Houston Raceway which I believe is at sea level, in the evening. First two runs, temp 65 degrees and last was 55 degrees. In other words perfectly ideal condition provided you have traction.

Raceweight was 3365lbs, car is and was 100% Bone stock.

1st run: He has notes that he hit the limiter from 2-3 shift & had bad launch: Launch rpm 3000+, shift rpm 6500
reaction .712
60 ft. 2.254
330ft. 5.854
660ft. 8.770
660ft mph 85.55
990/100ft 11.229
1320ft 13.311
1320mph read "220" on the slip, but in the book he wrote 110. Not sure what thats about?

2nd run: he has notes hit limiter from 3-4 shift & wrote he had a better launch. Launch rpm 2000, shift rpm 6500.
R/T .703
60ft 2.301
330ft 5.840
660ft 8.653
660ft mph 88.31
990/1000ft 110.41
1320ft 13.092
1320ft mph 109.68

3rd run: He has notes too cold lost traction. (this was when it had dropped to 55 degrees). launch rpm 2000+, shift rpm 6300-6500.
R/T 1.217
60ft 2.459
330ft 6.028
660ft 8.871
660ft mph 87.46
990/1000ft 11.287
1320ft 13.331
1320 mph 109.49

Again, basically I'd just like opinion on what this car SHOULD run, given the above info. Thanks.

really depends on the driver, if all info on 2nd run is correct, i could run a mid 12 with it. depends on how good you are at getting it off the line, from the looks at the slips, the driver sucked launching and im sure theres et to be made up in the shifting

honestly I am not all that concerned with the E.T. as I know that mostly ALL driver. The trap speed on the other hand has a little more to do with the car istelf and thats what really bothered me. I mean even magazines got 01 Z06's to trap 114mph and here this is Houston at sea level and 65 degree and 4-5mph less, lol.

But I'm thinking/hoping it was the fact that he hit the rev limiter on both the first two runs that really killed the mph. Assuming the third run was just an all around screw it between poor launch and possibly shifting too early too, probably paranoid at that point to tap the limiter again.

EDIT

You didn't mention it was a Z06.. just take it to the track and dyno it to find out what it runs.

Yeah, I thought the times where good until you said zo6. Still not bad compared to a few zo6s I've seen run at the track. Driver can make a big diff, go to the track and see what YOU can run, then go from there.

Yes it's a bone stock 2001 Z06 (see sig). Sorry I forgot to mention that. I know most people go by my username.

Anyhow, how much does hitting the rev limiter usually kill mph?

yea, didnt know you meant a z06, thats different story, i thought the raceweight looked kinda low

revlimiter bump may barley affect speed any, if he hit it 2-3 times before he shifted it may have hurt but im guessing he left time and mph on the table with his driving skills lookin at the results
