i know this sounds like a stupid question, but how are you guys mounting the IAT sensor?
a friend of mine used the stock grommet and it keeps popping out at around 10psi...
personally, i think he just made the hole for the grommet too big, so its a looser fit then stock now, but this is the 3rd time its happened..

i suggested he put a wrap or two of electrical tape on it, to make it a snugger fit, but im curious if there's a better solution everyone is using..

Stock grommet....I drilled the hole into the pipe pretty small. I had to use a flathead to get the grommet inside of the pipe, and a put a little RTV around the outside before I put it in. Then I put the IAT sensor in the grommet...but it wouldn't slide in. So I put the flat part of a 2x4 on the back of it and until it went in. It only took 4-5 hard times, and I can assure you it won't be comming out. I blew my entire IAC sensor and housing out of my manifold with a boost spike and it held.

so the stock grommet should hold it fine if he had made the hole smaller... gotcha.

They make a IATS that has threads on it, think its a GM part but i dont know the number. thats what i have, i wouldnt trust a gromet at more then 5psi

a threaded one? thats what i wanted to hear.

so is there a car i can look it up under or something? is it a plug and play swap, or do i have to switch connectors?
