I think it might help a little bit, but from what I was reading the poly motor mounts will help a lot more to stop that. There are also alot of vibrations associated with installing a poly trans mount, although I dont seem to mind it at all.

There are a lot of other fixes to stop the y-pipe from banging on the floor board. Do not shove a piece ridgid foam insulation under it. I had a member on here recommend that me, even though he hadn't done it himself. It seemed like it a good idea, until about after 20 minutes of driving when the y-pipe got warm and the foam insulation melted leaving my y-pipe looking like ****.

One of the sponsors, I think Thunder Raring sells a a piece that you can weld in by the floor board that will keep the y-pipe in place.

The poly trans. mount stopped my banging back when I had a Ypipe. I'd definitely try it before going through the hassle of a motor mount install for sure.
