tranny mount stop banging?
hey guys, i saw somewhere that some guys y-pipe was banging the floor and he put in a poly tranny mount and it fixed it. i was wondering if anyone on here did the same thing. if so id reather do that than do the engin mounts. also, would one poly engin mount on the drivers side be ok?

I think it might help a little bit, but from what I was reading the poly motor mounts will help a lot more to stop that. There are also alot of vibrations associated with installing a poly trans mount, although I dont seem to mind it at all.
There are a lot of other fixes to stop the y-pipe from banging on the floor board. Do not shove a piece ridgid foam insulation under it. I had a member on here recommend that me, even though he hadn't done it himself. It seemed like it a good idea, until about after 20 minutes of driving when the y-pipe got warm and the foam insulation melted leaving my y-pipe looking like ****.
One of the sponsors, I think Thunder Raring sells a a piece that you can weld in by the floor board that will keep the y-pipe in place.

lol, rite now i have and exhaust hanger type thing on each side to keep it form hitting but it viberated the floor like a ******. so it looks like next weekend ill have me another project! thanks for the help guys!
