Default how much will going back to 3.23's hurt me?

just as the title says, i have an a3 (th350) and 3.73's. i am going to do this because i am sticking with my 26x11.5x15 et streets, spraying a nx 200 directport on top of it and i am running out of gear/rpm's in the 1/4.

any opinions, comments, help is appreciated.

mods listed in sig.
