Anybody installed ETP 215 heads in a Vette yet?
I've been driving my C6 around totally stock this year, but I'm getting kinda bored with it. Thinking about a head swap this winter, and started doing some reading on this forum about the new ETP heads. The performance sure looks good, but how about the installation? Can you do a clean, OEM like install with them? I really want something that's as reliable as stock and as clean looking. If the ETP heads are a hassle, I'll go with the AFRs, I ran them on my C5 and they were great.

Do a search for A&A and the etp 215. They made a little over 500rwhp but I was told the motor blew. Not sure why it happened. I know they make good power and look really good. Installation is the same as the ls1 heads except they have a different rocker pedestal plate.

I have not heard anything about relocating an alternator. BUT, I think some ETP heads are taller physically than stock ones (I could be wrong). However, if that is the case, you would just need some plug wires from a truck. Stock ones are fine and are 1" longer I think than LSx car wires.
I know that A&A make 440+ rw with a 224/228 cam or something similar and an LS6 intake. Check the dyno forum and search for ETP if it will let you.

Tried the search, but couldn't find any first hand information from people that have installed them themselves. When I think about it and look at my car, I can't see how you could fit those longer pushrods, etc., in there at the 11* angle without moving everything out, and there's no way to move the covers out without hitting at least the alternator. Hopefully, somebody's already been there, done that.

The covers are a little higher on the mounting surface for the valve covers to accomidate aftermarket rockers. So are all the other aftermarket head castings. Nothing that should cause a big headache. I don't see how the valves would be any different other than 11 degree angle vs 15 degree. Call them up if you want the specifics about any install concerns. I'm sure they would be glad to tell you any common problems that could occur.

Longer Plug wires: No, not even with .500 valve cover spacers
Relocated Alternator: No
I have a 346cid with 240s mocked up in my garage right now and needs none of these things.

Thanks all.
I talked to ETP today, and they had a few things to add. The heads are around 3/8" taller than stock, so the stock LS2 wires I'm running won't fit, but the truck wires will. The covers should clear the alternator as long as I don't run a super thick cover gasket or a spacer. This looks very close to me, my alternator is within 1/2" of the stock valve cover right now.
With the current ETP casting, some people have to grind out the insides of the valve cover to get everything to fit. They are updating the casting now to better handle this issue.

i know on my 04z06 i had to move the alt out at the bottom 1" to get the clearance for the coil pack, you could also do it at the top but i wanted to hide my bracket, also removed bottom bolt and twisted coil pack to rear of car. the stock wires were about 1/2" to short [had Magacore make up a set 1" longer] then if you want to use stock plastic covers you are going have to make up some new snaps cause the taller heads will throw the geomantry off and recut holes for oil and gas line. i would do it again in a minute[i love a challenge]
