So whats the right way
Adjusting Roller Rockers (comp 1:85 RR)
I know this question has be asked may times throughout the forum but there are many different ways people say to adjust them.
First I turned the motor over by hand adjusting each set at a time by alowing the EX to start coming up and hand thighting the INTAKE alowing for no slack (zero lash) and going an additional 1/2 turn. then let the INTAKE come up and almost down and hand thighting the EX and then turning an additional 1/2 turn
After all this put it back together still had slight clicking or chattering under a slight load after the car was warm.
Then I pulled the valve covers loosend all the adjusting nuts on each rocker and started the car. i then thightened each one buy hand alowing no slack. locked it withthe set screw came back started it let it run and checked it again. Only some were loose re-thightened and had the same problem...
this all started with the install of a Comp cam XER273HR. I was told buy one of there techs that it was due to the pushrods being a bit small. So i went out and got there RR's and pushrods ond now i am stumped...
this clicking or chattering is causing my knock sensor to throw my timing way off. I know this from the shop scaning my car last week. It get slightly worse the hotter the car gets.
