Default Issues with moulding around the rear hatch window

My wifes Uncle has a 94 Z/28 that has developed a problem with the trim that is on the edge of the glass on the rear hatch. Right at the corner of the hatch directly behind the roof halo where the glass goes from vertical to horizontal, his moulding that surrounds the glass has broken off so the corner of it is missing. The dealer has told him the only way to fix it is to remove the whole window, install new trim moulding then reinstall the window. They also told him there is a strong probability the window could break when they remove it.

Does anyone else have this problem and is there any other way to repair it?

Default

i have that problem but its only on the vertical part, no one told me the window would break if they removed it tho. i really need to get that fixed, its starting to really bug me and it looks tacky as hell. Im just going to take it to a window repair shop and have them take care of it, they shouldnt have to remove the glass tho.
